PURPOSE:To measure hardness data and temperature data of a material to be measured simultaneously, by providing a hardness sensor and a temperature sensor on the contact face of a measuring instrument main body. CONSTITUTION:A flat contact face 4 which should be brought into contact with a material 3 to be measured is formed in the bottom part of a measuring instrument main body 2, and a hardness sensor 5 is provided in the main body 2. In respect to the hardness sensor 5, for example, the quantity of forward or backward movement of a sensor needle 6 which is moved forward or backward by the cooperation between a spring mechanism and a punion rack mechanism is converted to a quantity of rotation to read the position of the needle on a dial meter 7, and the sensor needle 6 is always protruded from the contact face 4 of the measuring instrument main body 2 but is pressed in for the contact with the material 3 to be measured. A temperature sensor 8 is provided on the contact face 4 of the measuring instrument main body 2, and temperature data of the material 3 to be measured 3 is displayed on a display device 9.
