Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure wiping-off at the time of starting of a vehicle, by causing its windshield wiper to perform the wiping-off at the time of the detection of the motion of the vehicle as an intermittent wiping switch remains closed. CONSTITUTION:A magnet is attached to a rotating part at or behind the driven side of a clutch. A reed switch 11 is provided in the face of the magnet. A resistor 12 is connected in series with the switch 11 and a rising detection circuit 13 and a falling detection circuit 14 are connected to the node of the connection of the switch and the resistor so that a movement detection circuit 10 is constituted. The circuit 10 is connected to a stoppage detection circuit 20, which generates an output signal when the circuit 10 produces no output pulse throughout a prescribed time. The circuit 10 is also connected to a start detection circuit 30, which makes a relay 40 on for a short time since the detection circuits 10, 20 have both generated their output signals. The relay 40 is connected in series with a wiper drive motor 50 and a wiper intermittent operation switch 60. When the switch 60 and the relay 40 are both on, the motor 50 drives the wiper.
