Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled ring excellent in tight-sealability and non-adhesivity which does not cause a switching action, by coating the surface of a synthetic rubber seal ring with a fluororubber composition, which comprises a fluororubber, a fluororesin, an aminosilane compound and a liquid carrier, followed by curing.
CONSTITUTION: For instance, in a manually operated butterfly valve, to an encircling recess 5 of a valve 2 which freely switches through-hole 1d is inserted on O-ring 6. The surface of O-ring is coated with a compound of a fluororubber, a fluororesin (e.g. polytetrafluoroethylene), an aminosilane compound (e.g. γ- aminopropyltriethoxysilane), a liquid carrier and, if necessary, an amine compound (e.g. ethylenediamine) and then cured. The valve 2 rotates when a handle 4 is rotated, and when the valve 2 is in a closed position all the outer surface of the ring 6 tightly faces the valve seat 1C of the valve 1 and when in an open position the ring 6 leaves from valve seat 1C.
