Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare high-density manganese carbonate having high apparent density, by adding an aqueous solution of manganese sulfate and an aqueous solution of an alkali carbonate in proportion and simultaneously to a reactor and reacting at a temperature within a specific range.
CONSTITUTION: For example, 1l of 2mol aqueous solution of manganese sulfate and an aqueous solution of an alkali carbonate, e.g. 1l of 2.1mol aqueous solution of ammonium carbonate, are added simultaneously and proportionately to a beaker with a fixed displacement pump in about 1hr. The liquid temperature is maintained at 40W90°C, and the mixture is made to react under stirring to obtain manganese carbonate. The product is filtered, washed with water, and dried to obtain a high-density manganese carbonate having an apparent density of ≥1.5g/cm3 and a tap density of ≥1.8g/cm3.
