Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of tracking errors owing to the inclination of an optical axis by obtaining the inclination error signal corresponding to the inclination of a disc from the tracking error signal of a pit-less part and controlling the inclination, etc. of the optical axis in accordance with this signal. CONSTITUTION:The rugged signal of an optical disc 2 enters a two-split light detector 8, and both outputs from the detector 8 are inputted to a rugged signal reproducing part 9 and a differential tracking error extracting part 10, by which the rugged signal is reproduced, and a tracking error signal is created. These signals are inputted to an extracting part 11 for the tracking error signal of a pit-less part, from which the tracking error signal of only the pit-less part is extracted. Further, this signal drives an angle adjusting actuator 14 via an amplifier part 12, thereby adjusting the optical axis so as to be made perpendicular to the disc 2. The tracking error signal from the part 10 drives a tracking actuator 15 via an amplifier part 13.
