Abstract
PURPOSE:To make color balance of a shadow-mask-type color picture tube having an in-line-type electron gun to hardly get worse even when doming effect develops. CONSTITUTION:When electron beams bump against the entire surface of a shadow mask 3 and the temperature of the shadow mask 3 reaches to around 60 deg.C, the shadow mask 3 alters from the cold state (Ta) into the state (Tb) due to the thermal expansion, and the distance (Q) between a screen 2 and the mask 3 at the center of a panel 1a changes from (Qa) to (Qb). As the result, the position of one small hole 3a of the mask 3 moves from (Pa) to (Pb) due to the temperature rise, and doming effect develops. In order to prevent the above doming effect, the reaching points of electron beams (BB), (GB) and (RB) as indicated in figure (A) are regulated so that they include, respectively, phosphor dot or phosphor stripe trios (BS), (GS) and (RS) formed on the middle part between the center and the periphery of a fluorescent screen. As the result, glittering part of the phosphor emits light almost homogeneously without causing such unbalance as the conventional one, although a state as indicated in figure (B) is caused due to the components of the horizontal shift and the grouping shift.
