Abstract

PURPOSE: To contrive to enhance reliability of a thyristor converter by a method wherein a thyristor valve formed by piling up thyristor modules is made as one unit, and water cooling mother pipes for circulation of cooling water are laid respectively at every units.
CONSTITUTION: The modules 5 accommodating thyristor elements of the plural number and appendant circuits thereof are piled up for the several steps using insulating supporters, and are constituted as to enable to perform water cooling at every modules to make it as one unit. The units thereof are piled up for the several steps to constitute the multistep laminated water cooling thyristor converter, and the water cooling mother pipes 8, 11 to connect to a cooler 6, a pump 7 are laid at every units. Accordingly because water can be distributed equally without necessitating upping of capacity of the pump, rise of water pressure, etc., the problems in regard to water leakage and water pressure resistance of the respective parts are eliminated, and reliability is enhanced.
