The optical reticle is a new one made by evaporating optical reticle on a flass plate, and the optical reticle image can be made clear by enlarging the depth of focus by stopping down the optical iris 9. Therefore, it is enough to apply a specified voltage to stopping down the optical iris 9 to optimum aperture. The control switching device 19 switches signals that control the optical iris 9, and gives a signal that gives maximum stopping down when setting a reference position, and gives a control signal that makes the voltage level of image signal constant when making tracking operation.
