Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a plug-in type fluorescent display tube having a long lifetime and high uniformity of the luminous intensity, by incorporating a function of a condenser light source and a condensing transmission element for the reflected light into the fluorescent display tube. CONSTITUTION:A fluorescent display tube 2 has a concave fluorescent light emitting surface 5 formed within a glass container 6 so as to ensure the condensing on the surface of an original 1. The display tube is sealed up after the exhaustion of gas. The fluorescent substance has the light emission by the bombardment of electron after applying the voltage between a heat electron supply filament 9 and an anode 10 of a transparent electrode which is partially coated with the fluorescent substance. The light given from the light emitting surface is condensed on the original 1 through a light transmitting part 12. A condensing transmission element such as a selfoc lens array is set between the light transmitting windows 12 to th reflected light. The condensing transmission element that connects optically a condensing light source and the window 12 is designed so as to form focus at a prescribed position outside the tube 2 and including the optical conditions of the window 12.
