PURPOSE:To facilitate retraction/extension of a triangle sail without laborious work by using a rotatable mast and a winch. CONSTITUTION:In order to retract a triangle sail, a worm 5 turns to rotate a mast 1 and the winch 14 is made free to deliver a wire rope 15. As a result, the triangle sail 13 is wound around the mast 1 to be retracted. While, in order to extend the sail 13, the worm 5 turns reversely to rotate the winch 14. Consequently, the end portion 13' of the triangle sail 13 is pulled by a wire rope 15 and the sail 13 is wound back from the mast 1, extending the sail. During the extended condition of the sail, suitable tension can be always applied to the triangle sail 13 by means of the winch 14.
