Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve dust collecting capacity and to prevent the rescattering of dust by providing a controller for dislodging of dust consisting of run and dwell timers to a dust collecting electrode driving device and a rotary brush driving device. CONSTITUTION:A control mechanism for dislodging of dust consisting of run timers (set time limit T2) and dwell timers (set time limit T1) which permit arbitrary setting of time limits is added to a dust collecting electrode driving device 80 and a rotary brush driving device 90. The time T0 where broken lines A and B intersect, and the time T2 when an endless beltlike dust collecting electrode travels around the discharge electrode are beforehand detected, and the T2, T1 of the control mechanism for dislodging of dust are set, whereby the rescattering of the dust is prevented by the dwell of the time T1 and the rate of dust collection is improved. When the rate of dust collection decreases on increasing of the thickness of the dust building up on the electrode with lapse of time, the dust is dislodged for the min. time only, then the rate of dust collection is at the solid line C and the dust collecting performance is improved by the continuous dislodging.
