Abstract

PURPOSE:To synthesize a data plane at the receiving side and to display the 2<n>-stage signal level, by decomposing the multivalue picture information signal of the 2<n>-stage signal level into n-sheets of binary data planes for each information and transmitting these data planes in n-times with the timing of the time series. CONSTITUTION:The transmitting image data 1 of the quadruple level at each stage formed into an integer n(4) dots is decomposed into the binary data planes 2 and 4 corresponding to each digit when each level is defined as a binary number of plural digits. Then the planes 2 and 4 are transmitted in twice. In this case, an identification flag 3-1 is added first to the plane 2 to which the data of the binary two upper digits are collected, and then an identification flag 3-2 is added to the plane 4 to which the data of the lower digits are collected with the transmitting timing. Then both the planes 2 and 4 are written into the binary memory planes 5-1-5-2 at the receiving side, and the halfway reception is written into a binary memory plane 5-3. Then an identification flag 6-3 is added to restore the picture data.
