Abstract
PURPOSE:To precisely reinforce the connection part of optical fiber cores by filling and hardening the periphery of the connection part with resin containing a conductor or a magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:When resin containing conductive powder is applied to the periphery of a connection part between each end part of a covered part 13 of an optical fiber core 11 obtained by melt-sticking and connecting an optical fiber strand 12 and the optical fiber strand 12 and the conductive powder is conduction-heated, the resin is melted and adhered and hardened to the periphery of the optical fiber core 11, reinforcing the connection part. If the optical fiber core connecting part is previously converted with a heat contractive tube 17 in which a reinforcing rod 16 has been inserted and is conduction-heated, the connection part is more effectively reinforced. It is preferable to use hot-melt adhesive such as phenolic resin and polyethylene resin for the resin to be mixed with conductive or magnetic powder.
