Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a blended material suitable for use in the modification of an arom. polyester molding material, by blending a specified compd. with a polyester which does not enter into a redistribution reaction with an arom. polyester.
CONSTITUTION: 5W95wt% at least one compd. (A) selected from the compds. of formulasIWIII (wherein X1, X2 are each a bivalent org. group derived from a ring structure of formula IV or V and form a five-membered or six-membered ring structure; D1, D2 are each a bivalent org. group; R1, R2 are a monovalent org. group; A is a tetravalent arom. group; n, m are each 0, 1) is kneaded together with 95W5wt% aliph. polyester (B) which has a m.p. of 150°C or lower and does not enter into a redistribution reaction with an aromatic polyester.
EFFECT: Component A can react with an arom. polyester without deteriorating the basic physical properties of the arom. polyester. There can be obtd. an arom. polyester molded article having a high degree of polymn. and a less amount of terminal carboxyl groups.
USE: Fiber for tire cord.
