PURPOSE:To remarkably reduce instability such as level fluctuation of a reproducing signal, by locating an audio signal recording track, and a control signal recording track in reverse order as a conventional device, on a magnetic tape pattern. CONSTITUTION:To obtain rotating head recording of an audo signal after time compression, a magnetic tape 2 is wound on a takeup reel side excessively by an angle theta around a rotating head cylinder 1, and an audio signal is recorded to a part corresponding to the angle theta wound excessively. This audio signal is recorded on the upper end of the magnetic tape 2, i.e., at the end of a period on which rotating heads H1 and H2 contact the magnetic tape 2. Thus, instability such as level fluctuation of the reproducing signal can remarkably be reduced.
