CONSTITUTION:On a supporting material 1 such as a polyester film and Al plate, a picture forming layer 2 for a lithographic printing containing a metallic compound such as PdCl2 which is reduced to produce a developing nucleus having a diazo group or an azide group e.g. p-N,N-diethylaminobenzene diazonium chloride zinc chloride double salt, p-azide benzaldehyde and diazo resin etc. in a hydrophilic binder such as gelatin and PVA, is formed. A picture of a transparent copy 3 is exposed to ultraviolet ray on the layer 2 and treated in a reducing bath containing SnCl2 etc. and a Pd developing nucleus is generated in the layer 2. Then, a black image 2B is formed by separating Ni out centering Pd nucleus by using physical developer containing a metallic ion capable of being reduced such as NiCl3 and a reducing agent such as hypophosphite.
