Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain spectral sensitivity characteristics close to the human visibility characteristics by providing plural photodiodes with different spectral sensitivity characteristics to each picture element of matrix configuration and mixing their outputs. CONSTITUTION:Photodiodes b11a, b12a..., b11b, b12b. and b11c, b12c... constituting respective picture elements have high red, green and blue spectral sensitivity respectively. A shifting signal is supplied from a terminal Y1 of a Y axis shifting register 2 to turn on switching transistors (TRs)B11a-B11c and B12a- B12c... arrayed on the 1st line of a matrix, the shifting signal is supplied in order to terminals X1, X2... of an X axis shifting register 1 and outputs of 3 photodiodes of each picture element are fetched from an output terminal 8 in sequence. Thus, the spectral sensitivity characteristics of each picture element is obtained by composing the spectral sensitivity characteristics of 3 photodiodes, so that the characteristics is extremely close to human visibility characteristics.
