Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a clutch to compact size by clamping a starter ring gear together with a clutch cover on a fly wheel by a bolt in the clutch where a crank is turned through the starter ring gear mounted on the fly wheel. CONSTITUTION:A clutch mechanism is adapted to transmit power to a change gear input shaft 7 by clamping a clutch facing 15 between a fly wheel 2 rotated together with a crankshaft 1 and a pressure plate receiving a spring force of a plate spring 5 to be brought into frictional engagement. In this case, a starter ring gear 17 disposed on the outer periphery of the fly wheel 2 is clamped on the fly wheel 2 together with a clutch cover 3 at several places by bolts 16. At this time, the inner peripheral surface of the gear 17 is closely fitted in a circular step portion 2a of the fly wheel for centering.
