Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a hydrogenated hydrocarbon in good dispersion state in high yield free from agglomeration between particles, by using solid fine particles having specific novel structure in the hydrogenation of hydrocarbon.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrocarbon such as heavy oil, etc. is hydrogenated using inorganic fine particles having an average particle diameter≤50μ, comprising shells consisting of agglomerates of ultrafine inorganic compound having diameters of ≤0.5μ and an inorganic compound included in the shells. The fine particles have preferably hydrophobic or hydrophilic surfaces. These fine particles contain preferably a metal with hydrogenating activity. These fine particles containing the metal is further preferably prepared by using the inorganic compound constituting the shells and/or the inorganic compound included in the shells containing at least partially the metal with hydrogenating activity.
EFFECT: The catalytic activity will not decrease even by repeated uses.
