PURPOSE:To properly stock a discharged copy on a tray by automatically rotating a copy holding plate in a previous stage when a sheet discharging roller unit descends to the next stage after the completion of sheet discharge. CONSTITUTION:A copy holding plate 12 is pivoted to the inlet part of each tray 2, and is normally pulled in the direction of pressing by a spring 13. Further, a sheet discharging roller unit 1 is provided with a hold releasing lever 5 by which each copy holding plate 12 is rotated upward only when a sheet is discharged, but is returned to its original position when the discharge of the paper is completed. Accordingly, a copy sheet to be discharged may be stocked in its proper position event if it sticks onto another sheet discharge tray of the upper stage under electrostatic force.
