Abstract

PURPOSE:To linearly move and branch articles easily by disposing a conveyer rectangularly crossing one conveyer and mounting a high-speed rotating roller which can move up and down on this side portion of the rectangularly crossing conveyer. CONSTITUTION:A first conveyer 1 comprises an endless belt 5 provided with a concave portion 11 detouring downward concavely in the middle thereof. A second conveyer 12 is disposed in such a manner as to meet at right angles with the first conveyer at the concave portion. This side portion of the conveyer 12 is provided with a driving roller 22 following the end portion of the conveyer 1 which is rotated at high speed and moved vertically. When the roller 22 is lifted up, an article 41 is moved linearly across the conveyer 12, and when the roller 22 is lowered, the article 41 is transferred to the conveyer 12. Thus, the branch portion is simply constructed to facilitate the operation.
