Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare urea economically in an industrial scale, using the urea synthesis process from ammonia and carbon dioxide, by recycling the recovered liquid of the unreacted material to the urea synthesis tube without using the energy supplied from external source.
CONSTITUTION: Ammonia and carbon dioxide are introduced into the urea synthesis tube 1 through the pipe 6 and the pipe 7, repsectively, and made to react with each other under 140W250kg/cm2 pressure and 100W250°C. The obtained urea synthesis liquid is introduced through the pipe 9 into the high pressure decomposition reactor 2 maintained at a pressure essentially equal to the pressure of urea synthesis, and heated. The unreacted material existing in the urea synthesis liquid is decomposed into gaseous ammonia and carbon dioxide, separated from the aqueous solution of urea, introduced through the pipe 12 into the condenser 3 maintained at a pressure essentially equal to the urea synthesis pressure, and condensed. The condensed liquid is supplied to the suction side of the pump 5 driven by the liquid turbine 4, and recycled to the synthesis tube 1. The aqueous solution of urea is introduced to the liquid turbine 4 to reduce its pressure, and recovered through the pipe 18.
