Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled hollow spheres which are easily mixed with plastics, etc., by coating fine hollow spherical particles derived from inorg. silicate with a liq. colorant contg. a dye or a pigment and an org. high molecular binder.
CONSTITUTION: To 100pts.wt. fine hollow spheres with 30W80μm average particle size, 10W300μm particle size range and 0.17W0.8g/cm3 density derived from inog. silicate are added ≤30pts.wt. dye or pigment and ≤50pts.wt. org high molecular binder as the components of a liq. colorant, and a coupling agent and water are optionally added. They are mixed under ≤30kg/cm2 pressure to coat the spheres with the colorant, and the mixture is dried to form colored coated layers on the surfaces of the hollow spherical particles. The resulting titled hollow spheres can be used in large quantities in the manufacture of plastics, polychromatic coating, wall materials, imitation leather, etc., to reduce the weight and to improve the stress, creep, impact resistance, heat resistance, etc.
