Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow effective wave-dissipating effect to exhibit against a wide range of periodic tidal waves by providing two permeators back and forth in the face of a quaywall in such a way that the porosities and widths of two permeators and the size of water retarding area are in a fixed correlative value. CONSTITUTION:The first vertical wall permeator T1 having a porosity of delta1 and a width of b1 is provided by turning its front side toward the incoming direction of tidal wave, and the second permeator T2 having a porosity of delta2 and a width of b2 is provided with a given interval of l1 in the rear side of the first permeator T1. Then, in the rear side of the second permeator T2, an upright impermeable back wall W is provided with a given interval of l2. In this case, these T1, T2, and W are provided in such a way as to meet the relationships delta1=0.2-0.4, delta2=0.1-0.2, delta1>delta2, b1>=b2, and (b+l1)/(b2+l2/=0.75-1.0.
