Abstract

PURPOSE: To save energy by allowing the keyhole illumination for the ignition key, outer steering key, etc. to work only while the driver or any passenger is in the car.
CONSTITUTION: When a driver gets into the car, an operation sensing signal b is emitted from an outer steering sensing circuit 3 to be placed in an AND circuit 4 as "H", and a signal from a door open sensing circuit 1, a, is placed in the circuit 4 upon being delayed by a delay circuit 2. Thereby, the illumination signal c from the circuit 4 will become "H" and drives a timer circuit 5 to put on the setting time of the transistor 6 as switching means, and thus the illuminator 7 will light up. The output of the circuit 1, a, is "H" when nobody is in the car and the output of the circuit 2, a', will remain "H" after the door is closed, and even when the output b becomes "H" after the car is left unmanned the output c will continue to be "L". Though the outputs b and a become "H" and "L", respectively, in the instance when the door is shut, the output c will not be in "H" in the very instance because of existence of the circuit 2, and the illuminator 7 will not light up.
