Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove the projecting matter melt-stuck on the inside surface of a cut part during cutting by inserting a mandrel having a relief part consisting of spiral grooves formed with cutting edges at the circumferential edge into a tubular body to be cut by a laser. CONSTITUTION:A tubular body 1 is inserted through the holding hole 25 of a holding body 24 of a rotary holding mechanism 11, and while it is held in abutment on the positioning body 37 of a positioning mechanism 12, it is held to a holding body 24 in a holder 26 made of rubber like o-ring. A mandrel 51 consisting of a circular columnar member is advanced and inserted into the body 1 by the operation of a cylinder 53 until the stopper 52 mounted thereto abuts on the body 37. A relief part 55 consisting of spiral grooves is formed on the outside circumferential part of the mandrel 51 and the opening edges 56 thereof are cutting edges 57. While the body 1 is rotated by rotating the holder 24 and the body 37 by driving of a motor 27 via a gear 29, a laser beam 42 is irradiated from an oscillator 41 via a mirror 43 and a focusing lens 44 to the body 1, by which said body is cut.
