PURPOSE:To relieve a strict request for high-speed operation to a recording device and memory, by performing recording at a frequency which corresponds to the amount of information of every scanning line, namely, a paper feeding interval for one scanning line. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile signal 1 is decoded by a decoding circuit 2 to store a line memory 3 with recorded picture element information on one line. Then, a recording driving circuit 6 is initialized by a recording driving circuit start signal that a line set signal generating circuit 8 generates synchronizing with a paper feed signal, and the line memory 3 and a recording part 4 are driven to start recording on recording paper 5 successively at a picture element in the starting address of the line memory 3. Then, the recording part 4 is allowed to operate continuously in such a way that until a start signal for a next scanning line arrives, one-line recorded picture element information stored in the line memory 3 is recorded repeatedly at a recording period t0.
