Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the self-excitation phenomenon of a synchronous generator which is produced by the ground static capacity of a transmission line by interrupting the output of an insufficient excitation limiter when the generator is remotely interrupted. CONSTITUTION:When an accident occurs at the bus 12 of a substation, all breakers which are connected to the bus 12 is tripped by a bus protector in a substation. On the other hand, a facility protecting relay 7 of a power plant is operated, thereby blocking the limiting operation of an insufficient excitation limiter 5 to an automatic voltage regulator 4. In this manner, even if a transmission line is remotely broken and the load of the generator becomes static capacity load, the rise of the armature terminal voltage due to the self-excitation phenomenon of the generator can be suppressed.
