Abstract
PURPOSE:To make positioning of a prism simply and in a short time by keeping the relative position of the prism and a semiconductor laser so as to occupy the center of a laser projected from a prism nearly a fixed position at all times. CONSTITUTION:The angle of incidence i1, and angle of rotation i2 of a prism 3 are linked by an interlocking device and so changed that the center Ld of a beam from a semiconductor laser, not shown in the figure, always passes the point of emergence 0 of the prism 3 and proceeds in the direction of optical axis X when the prism 3 is rotated. Thus, by changing i1 and i2, the ratio of diameters of incident beams D1 to D2 also changes and elliptically distributed beam can be formed as desired.
