PURPOSE:To prevent a silent chain from riding over a sprocket and generation of longitudinal vibration by reducing radius of both leg ends of a link plate for the silent chain and varying curvature of the outer peripheral edge making contact with the sprocket. CONSTITUTION:Radius r of both leg ends 4 of a link plate 1 is reduced to increase deviation delta of the link plate 1 from the center of a pin hole 3. On the other hand, curvature R3 of contact edge 7 is varied. Thus, the link plate 1 can be prevented from interference with tooth face of the sprocket and bending by larger than a certain angle.
