Abstract

PURPOSE: To considerably reduce the gas unit by blowing a gas contg. satd. steam at a temp. almost equal to the desired heating temp. of starting material and heating the starting material to the desired heating temp. by heat of condensation generated by the contact of the gas with the material.
CONSTITUTION: A gas contg. satd. steam is blown into fine iron ore contg. a hydraulic binder and water added in a prescribed ratio at a temp. almost equal to the desired heating temp. of the powdered starting material. Thus, the powdered starting material is heated to the desired heating temp. by heat of condensation generated by the contact of the gas with the material. By this heating the powdered starting material is converted into lump ore.
