Abstract
PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a floating type disc brake, in which callipers are set slidably with respect to the stationary member, and to make it in small size and light weight by forming callipers through bending of a single round bar of metal. CONSTITUTION:Callipers 2 are supported slidably with respect to the stationary member 1 and composed of inner and outer callipers 3, 4. The inner ones 3 are equipped with a cylinder 5 on their interior surface, and a brake piston 6 is inserted in this cylinder 5. The outer callipers 4, on the other hand, are supporting a pair of brake pads 7, 7' slidably. In this case, the outer callipers 4 are formed by bending flatly a single round bar of metal into an approximate U- shape, where its central part shall work as contact part 8 with the outer side brake pad 7 and the ends be bent parallelly in the direction to face each other to serve as a support 9, with which the flap parts of the brake pads 7, 7' are engaged slidably.
