Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:1,5-Diazidoanthraquinone or 2,6-diazidoanthraquinone.
USE: An additive for a photo-sensitive resin for forming images in photographic, printing, electronic industries, etc. The necessary amount of the additive is as low as several percent of the resin composition. The compound is sensitive not only to mercury lamp but also to xenon lamp, tungsten lamp, and sun light.
PROCESS: For example, 1,5-(or 2,6-)diaminoanthraquinone is dissolved in an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, and maintained to 0W5°C. An aqueous solution of sodium nitrite is added little by little dropwise, and made to react keeping the temperature at 0W5°C. The reaction liquid is filtered, an aqueous solution of sodium azide is added to the filtrate, and the mixture is left to stand. The objective photo-sensitive compound can be obtained as crystals.
