Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a mica prepreg free from surface stickiness, having excellent workability, and giving cured product having excellent heat resistance, etc., by impregnating collected mica with a grafted composition obtained by the graft copolymerization of a polybutadiene compound with a specific crosslinking compound.
CONSTITUTION: Collected mica lined with a reinforcing material is impregnated with a resin composition composed of (A) 100pts.wt. of a grafted 1,2-polybutadiene obtained by the graft copolymerization of (i) a polybutadiene (derivative) having a molecular weight of ≥100 and 1,2-bond content of ≥60% (e.g. 1,2- polybutadiene homopolymer) with (ii) a crosslinking compound consisting of an aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g. xylene)-formaldehyde resin and an α,β-unsaturated monocarboxylic acid (ester) (e.g. acrylic acid) or with (iii) a mixture of said crosslinking compound and a polymerizable monomer (e.g. styrene) and (B) 0.1W5pts. of a radical polymerization initiator (e.g. benzoyl peroxide).
