NEW MATERIAL:The aminopyrimidine derivative of formulaI(R1 and R2 are lower alkyl or halogen; X is alkylene; Z is phenyl, furyl or thienyl which may be substituted with halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy) and its acid addition salt.
EXAMPLE: dl-5-Bromo-4-methyl-6-(α-methylbenzylamino)pyrimidine.
USE: Antibacterial, insecticidal and miticidal agent. Especially useful as an agricultural and horticultural bactericide. It is scattered to the paddy field or plowed land before or after the outbreak of the blight of crops or to the crops or animals parasitized with noxious insects or spider mites, etc.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared by reacting the compound of formula II (Hal is halogen) with the compound of formula III in the absence of solvent at 200°C or in a solvent in the presence of a base at room temperature or below the boiling point of the solvent.
