Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit painting of good finishing of partition lines by coating adhesives of an urethane resin having tack at ordinary temp. along the partition line for painting of a substrate, coating the adhesives thereon in the edge parts, and affixing masking paper coated with the adhesives in the edge part thereto in superposition thereon.
CONSTITUTION: Adhesives 1 consisting basically of an urethane resin are coated along the partition line P for upper and lower painting of a bumper W with a coater 2, whereby the line P is formed. On the other hand, the adhesives 1 are coated at the top and bottom end edges of masking paper 3 corresponding to masking width l, and the masking paper 3 is affixed by superposing the adhesives 1 at the top and bottom end thereof to the adhesives 1 of the bumper W by facing these each other, whereby the masking part W3 is sealed. Hence, the change in the curved surface of the bumper W is absorbed by the adhesives of both and the airtightness is maintained without creasing the paper 3. Next, the bumper is painted, and is dried with IR rays, after which the masking paper is stripped before the temp. of the coating layers drops to ordinary temp.
