Abstract

PURPOSE: To atomize paint like fibers and to obtain good painted surfaces irrespectively of painting conditions by stepping the inner side of saw teeth of a rotary atomizer with saw teeth, providing the same on the paint releasing end, blocking the flow of the paint and branching the paint through opening parts.
CONSTITUTION: The paint supplied from the leading end of a paint supply pipe 17 into a hub part 3 under rotation is brought into a circular conical cylinder part 11 through paint supply holes 7 by centrifugal forces and flows therein by forming thin films on a paint flow surface 12. This paint arrives at the inside of a cylindrical part 13 with an inner flange part 15 of a paint releasing body 9. The forward releasing of the paint in an axial central direction is blocked by the step part 20 of the inner flange part 15, and the paint is passed through notched parts 21 arriving at the outside circumferential surface of the part 13 from its inside circumferential surface by centrifugal forces and is released by branching to many pieces of liquid yarn flows, whereby fibrous atomization is effected. The atomized particles of the paint are regulated of scattering directions by the air injected through air injection holes 19 of a pattern regulating air pipe, whereby the particles are scattered toward the substrate.
