Abstract

PURPOSE: A tube body having an adhered red marking agent with heat stability and large adhering strength to a substrate, and uniformly sealed, which is prepared by adhering a marking agent obtd. by the addtion of a determined amt. of powdered silver oxide to powdered iron oxide, to the surface thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A red mark such as a trade mark, production number or watt number is adhered on, e.g., the surface of a fluorescent tube by use of a marking agent prepared by the addition of 10W30pts.wt. powdered silver oxide to 100pts.wt. powdered iron oxide. In the case of the iron oxide alone, the marking agent has inferior elongation on a bed and causes some problems such as difficulty in sealing, because it is thermally unstable and weakly adhesive to the surface of the tube, and the powdered iron oxide itself accelerates drying of glycerine, the binder. The addition of the powdered silver oxide, however, permits easy homogeneous admixture with glycerine, prevention of acceleration of drying and easy sealing. Further, no discoloration is caused after baking and adhesion strength of the marking agent is increased.
