Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform seam welding perfectly down to the root parts of projecting parts by locating the end part of a notched part formed to a rotary disc electrode in the root part of the projecting part of two sheets of objects to be welded, and performing seam welding from there.
CONSTITUTION: The end part 4a of a notched part 4 formed to a rotary disc electrode 3 is located in the root part of a projecting part 2 manually or automatically so as not to contact objects 1 to be welded. While the electrode 3 is rotated clockwise from this state, it is moved in an arrow B direction, whereby two sheets of the objects 1, 1 are seam welded. According to this welding method, welding is made down to the root parts of the projecting parts 2. It is equally well to move the electrode 3 in the direction opposite from the arrow B direction while rotating the same counterclockwise in such a manner that the root part of the parts 2 comes to the end position of the seam welding.
