Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage of hydrogen in a rotary electric machine by forming an insulating layer of fluorine resin on the surface of a sealing ring which slides on a rotor shaft, thereby reducing an insulating plate between a sealed casing and an end bracket. CONSTITUTION:An insulating layer 8 of fluorine resin is formed on the outer surface of a sealing ring 1 which slides through an oil film on a rotor shaft 7 in a sealed casing 2, and the sealing part is insulated with the shaft 7 by the layer 8. In this manner, the installing positions of insulating plates 3 which are interposed between the casing 2 and an end bracket 4 can be reduced, thereby reducing the leakage of hydrogen therefrom.
