Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase effectively the photoenergy converting efficiency of a photoenergy converting chemical element by making a solution of a chemical compound having an isoalloxazine skeleton, when the solution is used as an anodic solution, to have a given high alkalinity. CONSTITUTION:As an anodic solution 3 poured into an anodic container 1C for a photo-galvanic cell, a solution containing as a solute a chemical compound having an isoalloxazine skeleton indicated by the formula (I) (in the formula, R1-R5 represent H, X or a givent group such as an alkoxyl group or a glycidyl group). Here, the anodic solution 3 has a strong alkalinity with a pH value over 10. The pH adjustment of the solution 3 is carried out by use of NaOH, KOH, Ca(OH)2 or the like. As the above compound having an isoalloxazine skeleton, flavin mononucleoside, flavin adenine nucleoside, riboflavin or the like is preferably used.
