Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The nitrogen-containing heterocyclic N-oxide derivative of formulaI(X is H or halogen; Y is CH or N; R is lower alkyl; m and n are 0 or 1; provided that m and n are not 0 at the same time).
USE: Selective herbicide having excellent herbicidal activity against various weeds, especially graminous weeds, and harmless to broad-leaved crops.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIcan be prepared, e.g. by reacting the 2- chloro-N-containing heterocyclic N-oxide of formula II with the phenol derivative of formula III in an inert solvent in the presence of an acid acceptor under heating and refluxing for 7W12hours.
