Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a dimming body which undergoes hardly natural coloring even when allowed to stand in environment receiving direct rays of the an over a long term by attaching a filter shielding ultraviolet rays to a dimming body using an electrochromic substance. CONSTITUTION:An outer substrate 4 having a filter 1 shielding ultraviolet rays on the outside and a transparent electrode 2 and an elecrochromic substance 3 on the inside is set opposite to an inner substrate 6 having a transparent electrode 5 on the inside, the periphery is sealed at 7, and an electrolyte 8 is injected into the interior to form a dimming body. The substrate 4 is only required to be transparent, and it is made of plastics, glass or the like. The electrolyte is a protonic conductive solvent, and a chelating agent such as a beta-diketone deriv., a polyamine compound or multivalent carboxylic acid is preferably added to the solvent to improve the coloring performance.
