Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an architectural material for flooring and decking applications, etc., which is provided with projectingly corrugated patterns on the surface due to a difference in the processing speeds, by extruding a synthetic resin material faster than feeding of a metallic substrate, and then, by feeding them together into a metallic mold having an indented groove. CONSTITUTION:Such a material as a metallic substrate 2, which is provided with a coating of a bonding agent 7 on the surface, is fed into a metallic mold 1, and at a speed faster than the metallic substrate feeding speed, a synthetic resin material 3, such as PVC, etc., is fed through an injecting gate 3 to cover the metallic substrate 2 so as to form a covering layer 3a. And, by an indented groove 4 provided in the metallic mold 1, a projecting strip 3b is formed on the surface of the covering layer 3a in the length-wise direction. At this time, because of the difference in extruding speed between the resin material 3 and the metallic substrate 2, the top section of the projecting strip 3b becomes bent into a corrugation-like shape when extruded, and therefore, it is possible to obtain in this manner an objective architectural material which is provided with a corrugated pattern on the surface.
