Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a container, which is provided with heat-resisting, pressure- resisting and gas barrier properties, and easy to shape by deep drawing and useful for packing of retort-sterilized foodstuff, etc., by forming a synthetic resin sheet into a container-like shape by pneumatic forming process, etc., and then, by attaching a resin layer onto the surface by injection molding process. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin sheet 16 is formed into a prescribed container- like shape, such as a cup-like shape, etc., by pneumatic or vacuum forming using a male metallic mold 18 to obtain an inner metallic mold 10. After covering this by a female metallic mold 20, resin for an outer mold 12 is injected from a nozzle 22 into a cavity between the molds to form the outer mold 12. After the injection molding is completed, the male metallic mold 18 and the female metallic mold 20 are cooled off and separated from each other, and then, by operating a stripper 24, the metallic molds are removed to obtain the objective container. Further, it is desirable to use polyethylene for the inner mold 10 and polychloride vinylidene for the outer mold 20, to improve appearance of the outer mold 12 by coloring it and to prevent discoloration and deterioration in quality of content by shutting off ultraviolet rays.
