Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain bent laminated glass suitable for use as the windshield of a car by superposing a plurality of glass sheets on each other, heating them on a bending die to allow them to coincide with the profile forming surface of the die by their empty weight, cutting the bent sheets in the desired shape after slow cooling, interposing interlayers made of synthetic resin among the sheets, and joining them together by heating and press-bonding.
CONSTITUTION: A pluraity of glass sheets which are larger than a bent laminated glass product to be manufactured are superposed on each other, mounted on a bending die, put in a heating furnace, and heated to a temp. close to the softening point of the sheets. The superposed sheets droop by thier empty weight and coincide with the profile forming surface of the die. The bent sheets are slowly cooled and cut in the size and shape of the glass product. Interlayers made of synthetic resin are then interposed among the cut glass sheets and joined together by heating and press-bonding.
