Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the feeding of ordinary and thick sheets of paper and also plastic sheets in facsimile and suchlike reproduction equipment by tilting upward a paper feed table on a feed roller and changing the angle of its inclination to properly adjust the position of a separating head in relation to the feed roller. CONSTITUTION:When feeding ordinary sheets of paper 12, only the lowermost one of the sheets in a stack is moved forward along the outer circumference of a feed roller 2 as said roller rotates so that its direction is changed 45 deg.-90 deg. toward a guide 11. When handing thick sheets of paper or plastic sheets 16, if a feed table 1 is tilted upward in the direction of B, a pin 7 comes into contact with the engaging wall surface 8a of a hole 8 in the inner base plate 6 located on the left and right sides thereof and as the tilting of the feed table 1 causes the pin 7 to push up the wall surface 8a, the inner base plate 6 rotates on a pivot 10 in the direction of A. Where the wall surface 8a makes contact with a stopper 13, the feed table 1 is held in a fixed position by the other stopper. In this arrangement, the head 3 presses against the roller 2 with a smaller force than before and the length of the circular surface of contact between them is also smaller so as to facilitate the entry of a thick sheet of paper and the like between the head and the roller.
