Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve durability by applying to a belt and/or carcass ply stuff, a steel cord to which a filament made by amorphous alloy of metal composition is applied. CONSTITUTION:A filament is formed by amorphous alloy consisting of transitional metal elements M such as nickel, metalloid elements N such as carbon and iron Fe and having metal composition shown by a prescribed general expression, and then the filament is applied to either or both of a core filament and a primary sheath filament 2 so as to form a steel cord. This steel cord is applied to at least either of a belt of a pneumatic tire or its carcass ply stuff. By this constitution, adhesive strength between the steel cord and rubber composite is raised through addition of the metal elements M and heat stability against generation of heat at the time of high speed is improved through addition of the metalloid elements N. Therefore durability of the tire may be improved.
