Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect a motor, by sampling load current at a plurality of motors, anticipating a next sampling value according to a variation between present and previous values, and reducing operation at overload. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of induction motors 1 in combination with overload relays 5 are provided to operate cooperatively during a process. A current transformer 6 detects each load current of motors 1. A protection 9 with first- stage alarm and second-stage trip having arithmetic function is supplied with the load current. The load current is sampled within the protection 9. The next sampling value is anticipated according to a variation between present and previous values. A corrective signal is produced at a process controller 10 to limit the load when there is a possibility of overload. This nullifies loss time during operation and protects the motor from overloading.
