Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease weight of a multi-cylinder engine and obtain its compactness, by displacing longitudinally and laterally at least two cylinders and devising an arrangement position of intake and exhaust devices for each cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In case of application to a 2-cycle 2-cylinder engine for an autobicycle, each cylinder 2a, 2b is arranged longitudinally and laterally by the displacement of X, Y, and the cylinder 2b is set to a position slightly higher upward than the cylinder 2a. Then intake devices 13a, 13b, containing reed valves 11a, 11b and carburetors 12a, 12b are arranged respectively in rear of the both cylinders 2a, 2b, simultaneously exhaust devices 16a, 16b, containing exhaust ports 14a, 14b and exhaust passages 15a, 15b, are arragned respectively in front of the both cylinders 2a, 2b. Here the exhaust device 16b is arranged to the side of the cylinder 2a while the intake device 13a is arranged to the side of the cylinder 2b.
